OUR STORY
Tiqvah Hands of Hope began in 2009 with a simple vision: to help children and families experience hope, opportunity, and belonging.
What started with homework help, meals, creativity, and relationships in Canton’s S.E. community grew into a community of support serving students across the city.
Our mission is to walk alongside students and families with safety, consistency, and practical support. Our vision is a future where every student knows their identity, discovers their purpose, and has the relationships and resources to thrive.
We are guided by truth, compassion, dignity, consistency, and hope.
“We sponsor a child because we know not all children have the advantages our children do. We like how Tiqvah cares about the whole person: spiritual, physical and mental. We have observed that the Tiqvah team is dedicated to the students.”
— Scott and Dawn; involved with Tiqvah since 2017
HOW WE SERVE
Tiqvah supports the whole student and the whole family through consistent relationships, practical resources, and opportunities to grow. Our work includes:
Nutritious family style meal each day four days a week.
Personal hygiene opportunities so children can brush teeth daily and receive other products they need.
Enrichment classes that are ever growing and changing and often include dance, art, bucket drumming, lego challenge, coding, and yoga.
Opportunities for movement and play that include: dance, calisthenics, running, jump rope, basketball, and more.
Character development curriculum based on biblical principles to aid in the development of wise decision making skills.
A clothing boutique for our students and their families.
Meals for our students and families at Christmas and end of the school year.
Help make TIQVAH possible.
Your support gives students access to caring mentors, nourishing meals, academic encouragement, meaningful enrichment, and a community where they know they belong.
Every gift helps Tiqvah walk alongside students and families as they grow toward a hopeful future.
